Special Affect - Out of Order
Learn something new every day, at least that’s what I try to do. I love that even though I’ve been a fan of Ministry since high school, I can still learn something new about their members. Turns out Al was in a post-punk band in the very late 70s/early 80’s called Special Affect, which also featured Frankie Nardiello (singer of My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult) and Harry Rushakoff (who played drums with Concrete Blonde).

Looks like they put out a 7” single before Al was in the band, as well as a full-length with Al that is the soundtrack to a film called “Too Much Soft Living.” This live track is more aggressive sounding that the recordings, and quite possibly proves Al’s claims of selling out at the beginning of Ministry to get his foot in the door. Great stuff.

I love this track. A lot.
